It wasn’t unheard of to have communication disrupted in the Sea of Moons, the constant gravitational fields played havoc and even with a network of relay satellites the signal was never strong. We had just entered the inner rim of the system when we lost contact with the 1st fleet. The same three fleets that now went in search of humans. They were no match for Juparan navy who quickly gained space superiority and proceeded with numerous ground invasions. By the time the human relief fleet had arrived over ¾ths of the colonies had been removed and by then there was little they could do other than pickup the colonists that remained and return to human space.Īfter the second war the three fleets had been attached to the system to patrol it. A larger strike force was assembled and sent to remove the humans who lacked any defenses outside of corporate security vessels that had adapted into a sudo police force. Safe to say the Juparan’s quickly discovered the humans invading their space, this time intentionally. Large mining corporations dished out trillions to fund numerous colonies eventually having one or two colonies on every moon in the system. The tales circulated rapidly and drew in many colonial ventures, both private and corporate.

They told tales of an exotic system full of moons rich with resources. The second war began when the human fleet that had been dispatched returned to human space with the survivors. The conflict was rather short to be called a war and more of a dispute between border security forces of two nations. Safe to say translation devices had been effective in working with the human language and a conflict broke out as actions were misinterpreted The human vessel ship got off a distress call and a small human rescue party was dispatched. The system was part of the Juparan sphere of influence and ships were dispatched to investigate. A human vessel had made an emergency exit out of an interstellar jump and ended up in the Sea of Moons. The first war with the humans had been a mistake. Were it not for the valuable and rare materials found on the moons no sentient species would consider establishing colonies in the system. The sheer volume of moons acts as a large gravitational net and pulls any moon that has drifted away back into alignment with the others. Many would think that the moons that had collided would drift out of the system from the sheer force of the impact. Once every thirty years several of the moons would collide with each other and bounce off. In their place it holds some 67 moons, each circling the star in intricate patterns earning the system the nick name “Sea of Moons”. It holds a single massive star and no planetoids that would be considered planets. The Raxova system is one of the universes most fascinating. With fourteen other ships the 2nd fleet was sent into the heart of the Raxova system while 1st and 3rd fleets split off to begin ground invasions on the human colonies. I was part of the 2nd fleet in command of a heavy cruiser, the Hand of Reclamation. In total we had brought with us some fifty ships divided. The Juparan’s dispatched three fleets to counter act the human expansion and drive off already established human colonies. Human’s had violated the Treaty of Raxova and began colonization efforts in the Sea of Moons. My first flight was part of the Third War of moons.
